Ten teams made up of JIF board members and volunteers from the John’s Island community are now visiting 26 agencies to evaluate their requests of more than $800,000 to fund various capital projects. Some of the requests include: classroom furniture, and equipment, passenger vehicles and trucks, sports and fitness equipment, kitchen renovation and building repairs. The JIF teams have the difficult but very interesting job of sorting through all the legitimate requests for aid to identify those projects most deserving of our help. Along the way, team members gain first-hand knowledge of the needs of our surrounding communities. Please consider volunteering for one of these teams next year.
