2025 Grant Awards
This season, the John's Island Foundation awarded a record $2,466,000 million in capital funding to 24 nonprofits whose programs meet the needs of Indian River County residents related to food, shelter, disabilities, health, aging, abuse, or education. This represents a 45% increase in dollars awarded over last year.
Among the recipients, three organizations received Leadership Grants totaling $900,000 to support housing affordability, early childhood education, and healthcare initiatives. Habitat for Humanity was awarded $500,000 to develop Citrus Crossing, a neighborhood with 32 affordable homes. Childcare Resources received $200,000 to establish an early childhood education community center in downtown Vero Beach, while Treasure Coast Community Health was granted $200,000 to build a new 20,000 sq. ft. pediatric center in Oslo. Additionally, the Foundation provided $1.1 million in capital grants through its Core Grant program and $470,403 through its Accelerated & Emergency Grant programs. These projects will enhance the capabilities of these organizations to meet critical community needs and will have a lasting impact on residents throughout Indian River County.
